Laser gas-discharge absorption measurements of the ratio of two transition rates in argon
The ratio of two line strengths at 922.7 nm and 978.7 nm of argon is measured
in an argon pulsed discharge with the use of a single-mode Ti:Sapphire laser.
The result 3.29(0.13) is in agreement with our theoretical prediction 3.23 and
with a less accurate ratio 2.89(0.43) from the NIST database.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, 1 tabl
Interior Structure of a Charged Spinning Black Hole in -Dimensions
The phenomenon of mass inflation is shown to occur for a rotating black hole.
We demonstrate this feature in dimensions by extending the charged
spinning BTZ black hole to Vaidya form. We find that the mass function diverges
in a manner quantitatively similar to its static counterparts in ,
and dimensions.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures (appended as postscript files), WATPHYS-TH94/0
Solving Complex Logistics Problems with Multi-Artificial Intelligent System
The economy, which has become more information intensive, more global and more technologically dependent, is undergoing dramatic changes. The role of logistics is also becoming more and more important. In logistics, the objective of service providers is to fulfill all customers’ demands while adapting to the dynamic changes of logistics networks so as to achieve a higher degree of customer satisfaction and therefore a higher return on investment. In order to provide high quality service, knowledge and information sharing among departments becomes a must in this fast changing market environment. In particular, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have achieved significant attention for enhancing the agility of supply chain management, as well as logistics operations.
In this research, a multi-artificial intelligence system, named Integrated Intelligent Logistics System (IILS) is proposed. The objective of IILS is to provide quality logistics solutions to achieve high levels of service performance in the logistics industry. The new feature of this agile intelligence system is characterized by the incorporation of intelligence modules through the capabilities of the case-based reasoning, multi-agent, fuzzy logic and artificial neural networks, achieving the optimization of the performance of organizations
Defining the essence of innovation how important terms in promoting of transformation processes in Ukraine
Feature hierarchies are essential to many visual object recognition systems and are well motivated by observations in biological systems. The present paper proposes an algorithm to incrementally compute feature hierarchies. The features are represented as estimated densities, using a variant of local soft histograms. The kernel functions used for this estimation in conjunction with their unitary extension establish a tight frame and results from framelet theory apply. Traversing the feature hierarchy requires resampling of the spatial and the feature bins. For the resampling, we derive a multi-resolution scheme for quadratic spline kernels and we derive an optimization algorithm for the upsampling. We complement the theoretic results by some illustrative experiments, consideration of convergence rate and computational efficiency.DIPLECSGARNICSELLII
Scalar wave propagation in topological black hole backgrounds
We consider the evolution of a scalar field coupled to curvature in
topological black hole spacetimes. We solve numerically the scalar wave
equation with different curvature-coupling constant and show that a rich
spectrum of wave propagation is revealed when is introduced. Relations
between quasinormal modes and the size of different topological black holes
have also been investigated.Comment: 26 pages, 18 figure
Radiative falloff in Einstein-Straus spacetime
The Einstein-Straus spacetime describes a nonrotating black hole immersed in
a matter-dominated cosmology. It is constructed by scooping out a spherical
ball of the dust and replacing it with a vacuum region containing a black hole
of the same mass. The metric is smooth at the boundary, which is comoving with
the rest of the universe. We study the evolution of a massless scalar field in
the Einstein-Straus spacetime, with a special emphasis on its late-time
behavior. This is done by numerically integrating the scalar wave equation in a
double-null coordinate system that covers both portions (vacuum and dust) of
the spacetime. We show that the field's evolution is governed mostly by the
strong concentration of curvature near the black hole, and the discontinuity in
the dust's mass density at the boundary; these give rise to a rather complex
behavior at late times. Contrary to what it would do in an asymptotically-flat
spacetime, the field does not decay in time according to an inverse power-law.Comment: ReVTeX, 12 pages, 14 figure
NTMG (N-terminal Truncated Mutants Generator for cDNA): an automatic multiplex PCR assays design for generating various N-terminal truncated cDNA mutants
The sequential deletion method is generally used to locate the functional domain of a protein. With this method, in order to find the various N-terminal truncated mutants, researchers have to investigate the ATG-like codons, to design various multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) forward primers and to do several PCR experiments. This web server (N-terminal Truncated Mutants Generator for cDNA) will automatically generate groups of forward PCR primers and the corresponding reverse PCR primers that can be used in a single batch of a multiplex PCR experiment to extract the various N-terminal truncated mutants. This saves much time and money for those who use the sequential deletion method in their research. This server is available at http://oblab.cs.nchu.edu.tw:8080/WebSDL/
Scalar Synchrotron Radiation in the Schwarzschild-anti-de Sitter Geometry
We present a complete relativistic analysis for the scalar radiation emitted
by a particle in circular orbit around a Schwarzschild-anti-de Sitter black
hole. If the black hole is large, then the radiation is concentrated in narrow
angles- high multipolar distribution- i.e., the radiation is synchrotronic.
However, small black holes exhibit a totally different behavior: in the small
black hole regime, the radiation is concentrated in low multipoles. There is a
transition mass at , where is the AdS radius. This behavior is
new, it is not present in asymptotically flat spacetimes.Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures, published version. References adde
